SUNTECH, A PANEL WITH AUSTRALIAN HERITAGE

Suntech Power was founded in 2001 by Dr Zhengrong Shi, who had learned his trade at the solar research facility at the University of NSW.

Since commencing operations in 2001, Suntech has manufactured over 24GW of photovoltaic modules, which represent around 90 million solar panels, which have been distributed to over 100 countries. In 2011 Suntech was the largest panel manufacturer in the world and today is seen as a reliable supplier of quality panels. 

Suntech has developed a strong connection to the Australian market, with research and development projects being run at UNSW, ANU, and Monash University. These connections were enabled as founder and former CEO, Dr Shi obtained his doctorate degree of solar power technology at UNSW prior to founding the4 company. The Suntech panels have been used on the Sydney Town Hall and the Sydney Theatre Company as well as the Google head office in the US. 

The have an office located in Chatswood and they have had a local presence for over a decade. The product warranty is 15 years – parts and labour and warranty return on the Suntech panels is low. Their heritage of a pioneer in the solar industry is reflected in the over 500 unique solar patents they hold.

Suntech Ultra V Pro Mini - N-type Solar Panel

This is an N-type solar panel with a 25year warranty at a lower cost than other similar panels.  The purity of the silicon in an N-type panel makes it superior to the more traditional P-type in terms of higher energy efficiency, less degradation over time and lower energy losses.

N-type panels generate more power than P-type but typically cost more.  The increased power generation and higher performance over the lifetime of the panel generally outweighs the extra upfront cost.  The Ultra V Pro mini has all the advantages of an N-type and a 25 year warranty with lower upfront costs.

  • Suntech's current sorting technique is designed to maximise power output by diminishing power loss (up to 2%) which is typically caused by current mismatch.

  • Module certified to withstand extreme wind (3800 Pascal) and snow loads (6000 Pascal).

  • 25-Year Performance Warranty – Degradation of 0.40%/year after the first year. In the 1st year the degradation is 1%.
