The 10kWh SolarEdge Home Battery has been designed to achieve maximum system performance with the award-winning SolarEdge Energy Hub inverter including EV charger and the SolarEdge Genesis inverters.
When you purchase a SolarEdge Home Battery and back-up you receive a free trade-up of your existing SolarEdge inverter (excluding Genesis) to the SolarEdge Energy Hub. To help you achieve industry-leading system performance with up to 94.5% round-trip efficiency.
While SolarEdge is best known for optimised inverters, they have a lot of experience with solar batteries. They were the original battery management system for Tesla. They have close to 100,000 residential systems with batteries from Tesla and LG on them worldwide and they own Kokam, an industry leader in battery chemistry and utility storage.
Trade-Up to Home Hub for Free!
The award-winning SolarEdge Home Hub inverter is designed to work with the new SolarEdge Home Battery with Backup Interface. When you add a SolarEdge Home Battery & Backup Interface to an existing SolarEdge single-phase or residential three-phase system (excluding Genesis), you can Trade-Up the existing inverter to the new single-phase Home Hub inverter for free.

Maximise use of your solar power - Future Ready
It is a DC coupled battery making it more energy efficient than AC coupled batteries because it requires only one power conversion compared to three. This maximises the amount of solar you can use year-round and during grid outages. It also means a quicker pay back time for your battery.
Up to three Home Batteries can be connected per inverter*. This gives just under 30kWh of useable solar power for your home or export as part of a VPP. Increasingly customers are not just saving money with solar, some of those who have joined VPPs are making money by trading on the spot market.
The battery will be compatible with the fast, level 2 Smart EV Charger available later in 2022.

Tesla Powerwall has a capacity of 13kWh making it one of the larger domestic solar batteries currently available. It is AC coupled and can be added to an existing solar system without the need for a separate solar battery inverter.

The AC coupled 10kWh sonnenBatterieEVO can be installed outdoors. Like Powerwall it can be easily added to an existing solar power system. The DC coupled sonnenBattterie Hybrid 9.53 is impressively energy efficient at 98% and expandable from 2.5kWh to 15kWh.
